Components of reading lessons to observe when/if possible:
Comprehension (ask for and note specific strategy)
Vocabulary/Phonics/Word Knowledge
Reading Fluency (how students practice their reading)
Explain to the classroom teachers that you would like to spend 45-60 minutes observing how they teach the components of their reading lessons.
Ask for copies of worksheets or any other type of handouts that will be used with their lessons.
